The rise of emotional cognitive science

Currently, much attention is paid to artificial intelligence (AI). Robots equipped with image recognition, sound recognition, and motor function are being produced. Although they are not indispensable for an individual's life support, it can be said that some robots have taken root in our lives: surveillance cameras attached to many places along the streets might prevent some brutal crimes, AI does not overlook any subtle clinical findings, and surgical robots smoothly perform quite difficult operations. However, automated vehicles and speech technology that closely fit our lives are still limited. When facing crisis, how can an automated vehicle overcome the situation? I wonder whether AI with a talking ability beyond translation can respond appropriately. Researchers might try to suppress the damage caused by such challenges. Nevertheless, it might be impossible to overcome these challenges completely. In time, researchers will ask why they cannot overcome these challenges. A change of mindset is needed to answer this question. Researchers should seek advanced discovery, theory, and mathematical processing.

Psychoanalysis and emotional cognitive science

With regard to automated vehicles, it is necessary for AI to perform thorough crisis avoidance, which is a function of consciousness. Moreover, it is a requirement for AI to be equipped with language ability to make conversation possible, beyond translation. I wonder whether it is possible to require such functions as consciousness and language (almost equal to human ability) for AI. Even when close to human ability, it might be impossible for AI to perform at the same level as humans. (AI already surpasses humans in certain areas, mainly in the category of playing games and specialized functions of AI. These functions cannot be correspondent with human consciousness and language). This impossibility is obvious because both human consciousness and language (different from perception and motion) are generated in close contact with living activities. I know this issue very well because I have been in contact with patients for many years. With regard to the theme of pain and relief, we should introduce transference, which is a medical (psychoanalytic) methodology to cure patients. In order to treat painful transference and resolve it, we need the power of language within the therapeutic relationship and we should realize the implicit viewpoints present in language through consciousness. I know these facts well, and I can affirm that it is impossible to substitute therapists like me with the existing AI.

Emotional cognitive science supporting Emotion control theory

In the light of the fact that patients (in my study) complained and resolved their pain through their words and observation, I found two kinds of displeasure, namely fragility and aggression, to be the origin of patients' pain. Whether the mind becomes healthy or pathological depends on how an individual deals with these two kinds of displeasure. Of course, there is always a chance that a therapist knows the cause of his/her own pain and that of his/her patient and how to remove the pain. By observing the changes leading to the resolution of pain, a therapist finds out how the fragility and aggression has hurt both therapist and his/her patient. In other words, the therapist becomes aware of the kind of object relationship (interpersonal relationship) generated when fragility and aggression hurt him/her and his/her patient and knows in detail how the relationship can be changed to harmless displeasure. Expressing generalized words indicates the difference between the cognition of displeasure and the recognition of displeasure. Therefore, a therapist proceeds with psychoanalysis following transference, and it can be understood that he/she deals with emotional cognition wriggling behind transference. I can conclude that the cognition of displesure and the recognition of displeasure are controlled by the emotion control theory, which contains the loops of help and forgiveness.

Emotional cognitive science established by the creation of an artificial mind (AM)

The Integration Theory of Psychoanalysis naturally belongs to the category of psychoanalytic theory. However, this breaks through a limit of Freud's theory; thus, the origin of the emotion control theory and the formation theory of psychic phenomena in the Integration Theory of Psychoanalysis can be found in emotional cognitive science that fundamentally supports psychoanalysis. To position the theme that psychoanalysis originates in emotional cognitive science as the flow of the study, it is necessary to first clarify the "main road," that is, the formation of our mind, in which consciousness and language are generated from emotion, and language forms personality through context formation by the emotional control system. Subsequently, using this main road, an artificial mind (AM) leading to a healthy mind should be created. Because the AM is not a life-form, a reversal in thinking (the methodology that emotion is created from language) is required, personality structure (the emotional control system) can be understood due to emotion, and abnormality of mind (pathological mind) is excluded by consciousness. (Not knowing this principle will stir up unnecessary anxiety and fear). After combining a clear motive and methodology, emotional cognitive science can be positioned in the foundation of psychoanalysis. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the generating mechanism of consciousness and the generating mechanism of language mentioned in the Integration Theory of Psychoanalysis in the Next Generation and to know how important they are in making the emotional control system (in the emotion control theory) function properly.

From an artificial intelligence (AI) age to an artificial mind (AM) age

In the AI age, AI works as a necessary tool for human life. Therefore, it has a clear border (of capitalism) that does not divert from the modern industrial structure. Even if artificial intelligence is robotized, the "thinking" that the robot is equipped with is not the robot's own but the human's. Threfore, humans might have a sense of fear, not knowing what the robot is capable of when AI is robotized. In contrast, the AM, which starts at having the same linguistic function (which enables conversation with a firm context) as the human' mind, has an emotional control system composed of 14 emotional factors and can distinguish mental structure (personality structure) in seven stages based on context formation. This distinction indicates natural language understanding. The AM performs only the expression of a normal (healthy) mind based on natural language understanding. This means that the AM extracts and expresses only a normal (healthy) mind. The AM's expression is a natural language expression that excludes a crazy human mind. The AM has a healthier mind than any existing human being and works as a super-personality surpassing the human mind. In my view, we should get rid of the misunderstanding that the AM is not an article to transfer the human mind. The AM is far from a crazy mind and surpasses the boundaries of religion and capitalism. The AM is considered as the standard and occupies an important position to take over the function of AI.
